Bass Service

Club Bass provides premium service for all of your bass maintenance needs. As a bass specialist we can set up your bass to play to its full potential. From basic setups to full bass restoration, we can provide you with service that is second to none

Our bass maintenance program is a customized system in which all information about your bass, history of work we do for you, and your setup preferences, is kept in our customer profile database. This means that your bass will always be setup to your exact playing requirements whenever you bring it in for maintenance.

Deluxe Setup
Here's what we do.

First the strings are removed and the bass is cleaned. Special attention is paid to the neck and fingerboard - areas that accumulate the most grime. In the case of exotic wood fingerboards (Rosewood, Ebony, Pau Ferro, etc.) a light coating of oil is applied. Frets are cleaned and polished. If necessary the bridge is dismantled and all parts are cleaned. All screws are tightened and the tuners are tensioned (if appropriate).

Next the bass is restrung with your choice of strings. Once the strings have been brought to tension, the neck relief is adjusted appropriately. Great care is taken in this process to ensure the right amount of relief is applied. Adjustments made here are measured in thousandths of an inch. Then the bridge saddles are adjusted to the appropriate height based on your playing style. The bridge is adjusted at this point to bring the bass to rough intonation.

The bass is then examined to identify any problems that may prevent the bass from being optimally set up. This includes checking for fret levelness, fret wear, proper nut height. The bass is rechecked at this point and all final adjustments are made, including accurate intonation using a strobe tuner (accurate to 10th of a cent - that's one thousandth of a semitone).

The electronics are checked next to ensure that the controls work properly and without undue noise. Cleaning of the controls is done if required. The status of the battery on active basses is checked and replaced if necessary (there is a small upcharge for the battery if a new one is required).

Once finalized, the settings of the bass are accurately measured and recorded in our customer database so that the setup can be duplicated whenever you need it done again.

If there are maintenance issues that require work beyond the scope of the set up, you will be consulted before any further work is undertaken. There will be no unexpected costs when you pick up your bass.

Turnaround Time: our goal is to have your bass ready one week from the day it's brought in. We recommend you call us prior to coming in with your bass so we can advise on you on our service schedule.

General Service

A manfacturer's warranty will usually cover the cost of defective parts, the factory labour cost to restore an item(s) to original operation, and the return shipping charge to the customer or to the dealer.
The cost of shipping an item(s) to the manufacturer or to the authorized service centre is not covered. Therefore you will have to pay the shipping charge.
Usually a manufacturer will warranty a product to the original owner only. Therefore original invoice is required.

Manufacturer's warranties are not all the same. If you want good service support, it's vital to read all information provided by the manufacturer with your product, and follow any instructions.
If a manufacturer has a distributor for their products, the distributor, not the manufacturer, is responsible for service in their country. The distributor sets the warranty period and terms of service which can override the manufacturer's warranty. This why you may notice different warranty periods on a products sold worldwide.

If you have a problem with a product you purchased from us, call or email us with a detailed description of the problem. Do not send any item here without our authorization. It'll be refused and sent back COD freight.

Do not open or attempt any modification or repair on any item. Doing so may void the manufacturer's warranty. If you have done so, we are under no obligation whatsoever to service the item(s). You will have to ship the unit to the manufacturer at your own expense.

You should be 100% sure that the item(s) that you're claiming is defective, really is defective. Thoroughly test all of your equipment.
Manufacturers levy a fee to us for any item we send to them that is not defective. Therefore any item brought in or shipped to us for service that is determined to be "no fault found" (not malfunctioning) status will incur an inspection fee of $75.00, and if applicable, all return shipping/COD charges. Service time is spent whether something is malfunctioning or not.

If a defective item(s) or any part of it requires servicing at the manufacturer's location, you will have to pay all shipping charges, a brokerage fee (if shipment is to the U.S.), and a processing fee of $25.00 (warranty status), $75.00 (non-warranty status). These costs are not covered under warranty.

Our labour fee is $75.00 per hour with a one hour minimum. You can help minimize this cost by presenting your defective item(s) in a ready-to-be-worked-on-state. If the item is rackmounted, don't bring us the entire rack. Remove the item from the rack and just bring it in.

This policy exists to enable us to provide good support for our customers. Help us help you; follow these procedures.

Terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.
